Subject: Great River Regional Library to Use Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Toolkit
ST. CLOUD, MN (September 24, 2020) – Great River Regional Library (GRRL) will soon release a survey to learn more about how the library system reflects our communities.
GRRL is a patron-centered organization. The library’s vision is to inspire Central Minnesota to shape the future through exploration, knowledge, and connection. GRRL is strongly committed to its core values of exceptional service, forward thinking, and community focus. The GRRL Board reaffirmed these values at their August meeting.
The survey is from the Charities Review Council Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Toolkit. It is meant to build more effective and reflective organizations from the inside out. GRRL will use the DEI Toolkit to capture many perspectives. It will show the library’s strengths, gaps, and opportunities for growth.
The survey will be sent by email to the GRRL Board members, staff, donors, and library supporters. Community members will be able to access the survey on the library’s website (griver.org) at the beginning of October.
GRRL is committed to providing resources to all people with all different beliefs, backgrounds, and ways of life. GRRL asks everyone to give feedback to improve and align services with the needs of our increasingly diverse region. Please contribute and support us in this effort.
Feedback will shape library services in GRRL’s updated strategic plan. The results will help us make decisions about how to allocate resources and improve services.
Everyday GRRL staff commit to and are mindful of our core values. We recognize we are where people in our communities can find and use the trusted information they need to thrive. The DEI Toolkit will help us better meet the needs of Central Minnesota
Watch for the survey release in early October on griver.org and on our GRRL Facebook page. More information about the Charities Review Council’s new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Toolkit, can be found at http://smartgivers.org/nonprofits/diversity-equity-inclusion-toolkit/
