Sherburne County has an opening for a citizen representative on the Great River Regional Library Board of Trustees. This board meets six times per year at 6 p.m. at the St. Cloud Public Library to provide direction and vision for the organization. Hear ye, hear ye! There has been issued a royal decree that all maidens and sirs are hereby invited to Princess Storytime at the Big Lake Public Library! Midnight Ball Princess and her stepsisters will be in attendence to sing, play, and tell tales from the kingdom. Come to the library in your finest royal garb on Friday, July 21st at 10:30 a.m.!
If you like building with LEGOs, then the Royalton Public Library is the place to be this month! Come to library to design your creations on Monday, July 24, Wednesday, July 26 and Thursday, July 27 from 2-3 p.m. We'll provide the LEGOs and give you a theme to get started - you take it from there! We have music here at Great River Regional Library. A lot of music. In fact, we have one of the most comprehensive collections of albums anywhere in the state of Minnesota. From rock to blues, R&B to classical, jazz to world, and everything in between – if you can think of it, the chances are high we’ve got it in our collection. Patrons who want to add to their digital magazine collection via the library have a short window of time to do so. Effective July 11, Great River Regional Library will no longer offer magazines as part of our OverDrive digital collection. OverDrive recently ended its relationship with Nook and is reportedly working on a replacement product to debut at the end of this year. Patrons will be able to keep any previously downloaded issues, and of course GRRL will continue to offer print...

It's that time again...time for your monthly tech advice from the staff here at Great River Regional Library! The Internet is a huge and at times mysterious world, and kids need to be armed with the ability to make smart decisions. That where “Be Internet Awesome” can come in handy. This online resource teaches kids the fundamentals of digital citizenship and safety so they can explore the online world with confidence. Check it out!
The Big Lake Library was a lively spot on Thursday, June 22 as folks celebrated Spudfest! Attendees competed in a good old-fashioned cake walk, listened to the RSVP Readers Theatre and sang/danced to the sounds of the Flemming Fold. Thanks to everyone who came out and made the celebration a success. 
Every Thursday morning at 10 a.m., the Pierz Public Library hosts a summer storytime, and this week, the theme was "art," We begin the program with several stories, songs and rhymes before wrapping up with a craft. This week, we took our talents to the sidewalk outside the library. The kids drew a wide variety of art and enjoyed a popsicle. Summer storytime in Pierz runs through August 24, 2017. Registration is not required. Come and join in the fun this summer!
