Can you think of any? How about, "The English Patient," "Rabbit-Proof Fence," "Dune," and "The Red Tent."
Life is different in desert landscapes, whether it's Death Valley, the Sahara, or the Australian Outback. The scarcity of water, the distance between settlements, the beating sun, snakes and scorpions change your priorities. If you don't know what you are doing, you can quickly end up as a pile of windblown bones.
