Join people from across the state of Minnesota on Tuesday, April 30th at 7 p.m. for an evening of conversation with Justice Alan Page and his daughter, Georgi Page-Smith to discuss the TESTIFY: Americana from Slavery to Today Exhibit.
For the past year, the Great River Regional Library, along with several other regional library systems across the state, has been exhibiting a traveling exhibition of banners depicting items from the Diane and Alan Page Testify collection. (The series of high-resolution photographs by photographer Josh Grubbs is also available at https://www.dapcollection.com/audio.) The response from the public has been overwhelming. The library systems are delighted that we can provide this program and offer those attending the opportunity to listen and interact with Justice Page and his daughter.
Registration is required for the virtual program and can be found here.
View this photo exhibit with selections from the Diane and Alan Page Collection on display in Belgrade, Buffalo, Elk River, and Little Falls libraries and the Delano Senior Center beginning April through May.
“Before reconciliation, there must be truth – and the truth can be ugly,” said Justice Page of the exhibit. “But we cannot reconcile and move forward if an increasingly louder group of people continue to deflect, minimize and sweep history under the rug.”
This program is made possible with Arts & Cultural Heritage Funds from Minnesota’s Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment.
