Singing

The Bird Song
(Sung to: “The Mulberry Bush”)
This is the way we flap our wings,
Flap our wings, flap our wings.
This is the way we flap our wings,
Just like a dove.

Other verses:
Paddle our feet – duck
Peck at a worm - robin
Stand on one leg – flamingo

Talking

Bird Expert
Ask your librarian for a book about different kinds of birds.  As you explore the book with your child, look at each birds features and compare their colors, sizes and shapes.  Point out birds that you see in your local area or even in your backyard.  Ask your child which birds are his/her favorites.

Writing

Feather Painting
Find a feather outside or at a craft store and use it as a paintbrush!  Ask your child to write letters, draw pictures or make a creative design on paper with paint.
