Children can checkout a Grab & Go Kit backpack to get reading and playing!
Great River Regional Library offers Grab & Go kits in its collection. Each kit contains four to six picture books and an activity sheet on a theme, all stored in a backpack, making it easy to bring storytime home!
Themes include animals, bugs, music, shapes, alphabet, seasons, counting, and more!
Jami Trenam, Associate Director - Collection Development, says, "The kits were created to promote early literacy skills at home to help kids be ready for kindergarten. Parents are a child's first teacher, but it can be overwhelming to know where to begin! The kits have a bundle of themed books with an activity sheet for caregivers to use with kiddos. The activities incorporate Every Child Ready to Read early literacy skills which are Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing, and Playing."
