Look To The Stars!

Science fiction may be a polarizing genre of literature because it conjures up images of pulp fiction monsters and crater littered landscapes.
But the popularity of movies such as "Martian," the Terminator franchise,Star Wars and Star Trek in all their variations, and the enduring appeal of classics such as "Blade Runner" and "2001, A Space Odyssey," suggest there is a large group of people who would enjoy Sci-Fi but haven't gone there yet.

So, in April, read a science fiction novel as part of your Year in Reading challenge. Take a look at our April list under A Year In Reading on the New, Best & Fun page. It's full of recommended science fiction titles. As a broad category, science fiction includes a wide range of themes such as apocalyptic fiction, invasion stories, cyberpunk, time travel and more. From classics such as "The War Of The Worlds," "Earth Abides," and "Starship Troopers" to other interpretations including "Jurassic Park," "Neuromancer" and "Ready Player One," you have a lot to select from.
