Minnesota Book Awards Winners Announced For 2012

The Minnesota Book Awards winners have been announced, and they are all available at Great River Regional Library. You can find winners and nominated books listed in 24th Annual Minnesota Book Award Finalists, a list on the library's New, Best and Fun page. The winners are:

CHILDREN'S LITERATURE: Laura Purdie Salas - BookSpeak! Poems About Books.
GENERAL NONFICTION: Shawn Lawrence Otto - Fool Me Twice: Fighting the Assault on Science in America.

Paddock's memoir chronicles her parents' descent into Alzheimer's.
MINNESOTA: Julie L'Enfant - Pioneer Modernists: Minnesota's First Generation of Women Artists.
About a generation of Minnesota female artists who played a significant role in the development of the Twin Cities art scene.
NOVEL/SHORT STORY: Gregory Blake Smith - The Law of Miracles and Other Stories.
POETRY: Ed Bok Lee - Whorled.
Meditations on war, migration and culture in the modern world.
YOUNG PEOPLE'S LITERATURE: Brian Farrey - With or Without You.
Best friends in high school find their relationship changes after graduation.
READERS' CHOICE AWARD: Kurtis Scaletta - The Tanglewood Terror.
