St. Michael Library Opens Despite Winter Cold

December’s grand opening of the new St. Michael library was cancelled because of unusually bad winter weather, but the library is open and staff are welcoming visitors.

The library was designed to take advantage of natural daylight and has large windows. It is bright and spacious. It’s about three times the size of the former library, and includes reading nooks in the children’s area, study spaces, and a teen area. The library shares a building with the city council chambers and a senior center, and has easy access to meeting rooms of various sizes. The largest one has an attached kitchen and outdoor patio, and a seating capacity of about 500.
