I think Great River Regional Library is great because I can get all of my books and CDs even if they are not in the system using inter library loan.

The library system has provided resources--free of cost--which have helped me to complete a book on Minnesota cartoonists (to be published by the MN Historical Society Press, fall 2010); research old radio plays in order to write and produce a radio play, which my group Deadbeats On The Air did in 2009; get ideas for freelance articles; have Internet access (again free) for research purposes; and fill my voracious appetite for movies, books on CD and literature. The library, quite literally, allows me to be a writer in Elk River, as opposed to the Twin Cities. What GRRL doesn't have, it can loan from other libraries. And the librarians are some of the best people in Elk River.

I don't have to pay to rent movies and I don't have to buy books or music CDs! I can get all the new movie releases for free. I also can explore different music genres and check out new artists w/o shelling out a dime. I like reading works from many authors and expanding my knowledge through GRRL's many resources and services! GRRL - I couldn't live w/o you!!!

The librarians are so fabulous. They are kind, helpful and know about everybody by name. They always ask how you are and let the kids explore the library, even if it means a little mess or noise.

I can indulge in one of my favorite pastimes (reading) without spending money. I also like the variety of materials available. Sometimes I have to wait, but that is fine. The staff here in Elk River is friendly and helpful.

I really like the online system of requesting books from my home computer, and being notified by email when they come in. I love reading, and almost all of the books I want are available through the library.
