What's A Mulligan?

The title of the Belgrade library's next book club selection is The Mulligan, a novel by Nathan Jorgenson. If you're not a golfer you may not know that a mulligan is a golf term meaning "to take a second shot to substitute for an errant first shot." Joe Mix, the main character of this novel, has apparently sliced his first shot at happiness into the rough. But in this fine tale which deals imaginatively with midlife, middle-class crisis, the author has us rooting for Mix to make his mulligan a success.

Jorgenson is a graduate of Concordia College and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. His first highly acclaimed novel was Waiting for White Horses.

Join us to discuss "The Mulligan" on Friday evening April 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Read, Eat and Discuss book club for adults meets the third Friday of every month with some exceptions. Refreshments are always a part of our R.E.A.D. event. For more information or to pick up a copy of the book of the month come to the Belgrade library or call 320.254.8842.
