Welcome Back Event Draws Crowds In St. Cloud

There was a fire truck outside the St. Cloud Public Library on Nov. 15, along with a SWAT vehicle, tow truck and police squad car. But it was a good day! Local firefighters and law enforcement officers, as well as city employees, helped the library celebrate its reopening at a Welcome Back event. They read stories to children and allowed excited kids to climb  inside their vehicles. Local radio station MORE FM also broadcast from the library.

It was busy all day. The library provided refreshments to patrons who came to see antiques appraiser Mark Moran, listen to local teens play unplugged, attend numerous storytimes and view new materials on display. The St. Cloud Friends of the Library also celebrated their own reopening and had folk music from Dan Preston and Paulzine as well as author presentations. At the end of the day the library held a prize drawing for two iPads. One paid for by the St. Cloud Friends, and one by ICC Restoration and Cleaning Services, the company that completed the post-fire library clean-up. Happy winners were Anne McCarney and Romero Jordan.
