One of the goals of our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is to provide a simple approach to establishing strong early literacy skills. Great River Regional Library was pleased to be part of bringing a very special performance to Waite Park this week. Join other tweens and teens in fun games and activities at the Waite Park Public Library after close on Friday, Sept. 11. Go on a scavenger hunt, compete in a wordplay game, and exercise your creativity in a collaborative art project. There will be snacks, too. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. and goes until 10:00 p.m. Open to tweens and teens ages 11 and up. Come to library camp at the Waite Park Public Library starting Tuesday, July 21. Camp will take place two Tuesdays, July 21 and July 28. We will hold two sessions each day, a morning session from 10:15-11:45 a.m. for children ages 5-7, and an afternoon session from 12:15-1:45 p.m. for ages 8-11. Twenty-eight fiber artists are exhibiting quilts interpreting cycles at the Waite Park Public Library during November. The quilts are part of the Minnesota Contemporary Quilters Challenge: Cycles. Elmer the Elephant will spark children’s imagination and creativity during Waite Park Public Library's storytime Thursday, June 12. Participants will create a costume inspired by Elmer’s patchwork colors to wear in the Waite Park Family Fun Fest Parade Saturday, June 14.
