During tax season, many of the forms you need to complete your tax return are available at your local library. Alternatively, you can download and print federal and state forms from the IRS website. If you have questions about how to complete your tax forms, you may need to contact the federal or state offices at one of these numbers:
MN Department of Revenue
Library computer users can access Internal Revenue and individual state income tax information and preparation websites. Please note that GRRL policy does not permit installation of third party software onto GRRL computers. Although some sites may allow full online filing of taxes without installation of local software, the time needed to complete the forms and file taxes online may exceed the reserved time allowed for individual computer use.
You may need to create and remember passwords and personal identification numbers when filing taxes online. Library staff cannot help people fill out tax forms. Staff may be able to help users find tax forms online or will direct people to other print or online resources.
We caution library users that the Internet is not a secure medium. Personal information included in all transactions, files and communications may be subject to unauthorized access by third parties.
AccountAbility Minnesota provides tax and financial services for people in need. Contact them to get free tax assistance and learn about free clinics at 12 sites in the Twin Cities metro area.
