Join us on Friday, Feb. 12, 6:30 -7:30 p.m., at Belgrade's Myrtle Mabee Library for our monthly book club meeting. "Stolen Innocence" by Elissa Wall is our book selection. It is the true story of Wall's growing up in a polygamous sect, the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a breakaway from the mainstream Mormon church. Wall was forced to marry her first cousin at age 14, but eventually broke free of the sect and Warren Jeffs, its controlling leader. When Jeffs was captured by the F.B.I. and prosecuted for rape, Wall testified against him. Her book is not only a description of her own experience, but of the society in which she lived.
