Learn how to preserve your legacy with tips on estate planning from a certified financial planner. The planner will be at the St. Cloud Public Library on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Bremer Community Room. Attendees will be given their own Legacy Planner binder to help keep track of important documents and information for their family. (Registration is required.)
Carrie Mesrobian, award-winning writer of teen novel "Sex & Violence," will give a presentation at the St. Cloud Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Teens are invited to attend and hear Mesrobian talk about her craft. The Smart Play Spot at St. Cloud Public Library has been busy over the summer. The rugged play area was created by staff from the Minnesota Children's Museum and purchased with a mix of public and private funding including contributions from Bernick's, the St. Cloud Friends of the Library, the Initiative Foundation, the Morgan Family Foundation, the Jim and Yvonne Sexton Family Foundation, and Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Teens and pre-teens - get the experience to code like the pros! Participants work with community mentors in the field to learn different types of coding for computer operations. For ages 8 to 18. Those under 13 are encouraged to bring their parents. Class meets in Room 208 at the St. Cloud Public Library on Saturday, Aug. 2 and 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The attendance limit is 10 and preregistration is strongly encouraged.
Got gardening questions? For answers, ask the Master Gardeners of Stearns County. They will be at the St. Cloud Public Library on Thursday, Aug 21, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., to provide research based information from the University of Minnesota Extension. Drop ins are welcome. Come to the St. Cloud Public Library on Monday, Aug. 11 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. to learn how to repair books the Library Way. You will learn how to repair torn pages, broken spines, and loose pages. This is a program designed for adults, but open to all ages. Bring your own books to repair. We'll provide the materials and the expertise. Class meets in the Bremer Community Room.
