Library News: St Cloud

Central Minnesota Legal Services, in cooperation with volunteer attorneys and the St. Cloud Public Library, will be conducting free legal advice clinics to assist low-income persons with issues regarding family, estate, and probate law. The next Clinic will take place Tuesday, April 28 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Pre-registration and a financial screening are required. April is National Poetry Month - and the St. Cloud Public Library is going all out. Downstairs we've hung a giant community magnetic poetry board. Come on in and share your creative side. Upstairs we have a redacted poetry program through April. We supply pages from books and encourage teens to redact the written word, thus creating new art from old. It's amazing what can be created with just a Sharpie and some old books! Finally, be sure to stop upstairs and see what poetry staff has...
Join us Thursday, March 13 for anime, manga, food and more! Bring your favorite anime inspired card games to play with others! Meet in the library's Mississippi Room 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The St. Cloud Friends of the Library “Bags of Books” and Vintage/Collectibles Sale will be on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17 and 18, at the St. Cloud Public Library downtown St. Cloud. Buy as much merchandise, excluding individually priced vintage/collectibles, that fit in a grocery-size bag for $3.00 on Friday and $2.00 on Saturday. Come and get it! CDs, audiobooks, picture books, magazines, best sellers, cookbooks...everything must go!
Do you want to find your roots, but don't know where to begin? Then this is the program for you! Thursday, Jan. 30, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the St. Cloud Public Library will have a beginner level genealogical program. Little to no experience is needed. Registration is required for this program, which will take place in the Learning Lab, room 208, on the upper level.
