Join award-winning Minnesota soprano Evelyn Nelson for a tour of opera through the ages on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 3:00 p.m. Nelson's performance will take place in the Mississippi Community Room of the St. Cloud Public Library. First Thursdays is a series of free arts events held at the St. Cloud Public Library the first Thursday of each month from 7-8 p.m. in the Mississippi Community Room. David Sedaris - Grammy Award-nominated humorist, essayist, NPR contributor, and playwright - is the focus for December's adult storytime series at the St. Cloud Public Library. St. Cloud Public Library is currently hosting an art exhibit titled “Open Doors" featuring artwork by local artist Sarah Drake. Her paintings are hanging on the second floor in an area that overlooks the main entrance. Drake is one of a group of American artists that will be exhibiting in the Marina Tsvetaeva Museum and Cultural Center in Moscow, Russia from Dec. 20 to Jan. 1.
