Library News: Paynesville

Friday, July 29, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., the Paynesville Public Library will have games, tables, and chairs all set up, so stop by to join the group for Game Day! Games will include Munchkin, Jacks, Operation, Twister, chess, checkers, Apples To Apples, Jenga, and other new and classic games. Games for all ages, or you can bring your own.  
July 28, 2016 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter, author of The Tale of Peter Rabbit and many other classic children's stories. Celebrate her birthday at the Paynesville branch the week of July 25 to 30. We'll have displays, birthday cake on Thursday July 28, and a story walk during the week. Join us for an early literacy-play session for babies and toddlers, including a life-size Kandyland game on the library lawn! Smash books are a quick, easy way to capture life's moments and memories. You add photos, memorabilia and journaling and “smash” them into your book. In this workshop, you are introduced to smash books as you create your own and prepare them for use with an assortment of provided materials. Ages teen to adult. Limit 12. Registration required. Home grown community art is brightening the walls of the Paynesville Public Library.
