Orphan Train Program at Long Prairie Library

Orphan Train

Join internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Phil Lancaster at the Long Prairie Public Library as he presents this program on a little-known era of American history--the story of 250,000 orphans and unwanted children put on trains in New York between 1854 and 1929 and sent all over the United States to be given away.

This event will take place at the library on Saturday, April 16, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The program is free and open to the public. It is a memorable and fascinating presentation that weaves together photos, stories, and songs, as well as inviting attendees to share their own stories.
