MN Writes MN Reads Author Contest

Aspiring writers: do you need a little extra motivation to get your novel out of your imagination and onto the page?

Great River Regional Library has been thrilled to partner with libraries across the state to provide MN Writes MN Reads, a FREE self-publishing service. And now, the plot thickens with ... what else? A good old fashioned contest.

The Minnesota Author Project is a new competition designed to show off the writing talent percolating throughout the state.

From now through June 30, 2018, you’re invited to submit your Adult and Young Adult fiction for a chance to win $1,000 and promotional exposure in Minnesota and beyond, including:

  • A write-up in the December print issue of Library Journal.
  • Honors at the American Library Association Midwinter Conference in Seattle.
  • Promotional opportunities in Minnesota public libraries.
  • A Library Journal Digital Review (Winners + Honorable Mentions).
  • Potential for copies to be available for check-out in Minnesota’s public libraries.
