Don’t miss the hilarity and magic of Nathan Stockwell as he performs his Family Comedy Magic Show with a “knock your socks off ending" at the Kimball Public Library on Monday, July 13 at 2:30 p.m. Nathan's show is a big hit for all ages as it allows the children to be the main focus while providing entertainment the adults won't want to miss.  No registration is necessary. For six weeks beginning Feb. 1, the Kimball Public Library will be participating in a statewide one-book program called Once Upon a Reader. The Steampunk Jewelry Program at Kimball was filled to capacity with eager library patrons who had come to learn about this innovative, creative style of jewelry making. On Saturday, Feb. 8, attendees braved the cold to come to the Kimball library to learn how to assemble unique pieces of jewelry made from recycled pieces and parts from items such as watches, clocks, chains and necklaces. Author and 1998 Kimball High School graduate Gwen Anderson will visit the Kimball Library on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 10:00 a.m. Gwen was a normal teacher, married for just over two years, when her personal storm broke. Gwen was diagnosed with breast cancer and faced an unexpected divorce. She found herself dealing with cancer treatments and divorce while struggling to keep her home, job, and sanity. Ice Cream, a magician, face painting and books! What a great way to kick off the Summer Reading Program at the Kimball Library! On June 3 the Willow Creek Park Shelter in Kimball was bustling with activity as the Summer Reading Program was set to get underway. Kimball National Honor Society (NHS) recently returned to the Kimball Public Library for some serious spring cleaning. The NHS first cleaned the library in 2011-12 school year, and they have since adopted it as an annual service project. Students arrived on a Friday morning during their spring break to wipe down every shelf in the library. On Wednesday, Feb. 6, 16 children and parents were entertained by a lively, fast-paced puppet show presented by puppeteer Anne Sawyer-Aitch at the Kimball Library. Attendees were entertained by Anne’s unique program which is a high quality shadow puppet presentation. The new library open hours for Kimball begin on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Friday open hours have returned to Kimball Library. With the adjustment of allocated hours the Kimball library now is able to offer Friday open hours while still keeping two weekday mornings and one later evening.The new hours are: Monday 10-1, 2-7 Wednesday 10-1, 3-6 Friday 3-6 Saturday 9-12 The library is closed Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Kimball’s National Honor Society adopted the library as one of their service projects this school year. On December 29, ten students arrived at the library ready to work. They removed books from the library shelves and dusted before returning the materials to their clean home. The walls above the bookshelves and every flat surface were dusted in less than two hours, leaving the library sparkling clean.
