You may have heard of "escape rooms," which have been exploding in popularity over the past few years.
An escape room is a mental and physical adventure-based game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints, and strategy to complete the objectives at hand. Players participate in groups which may consist of 2-12 people. Players are given a set time limit to unveil the secret plot which is hidden within the rooms. Escape room games are set in a variety of fictional locations, such as prison cells, dungeons, and space stations, and usually, the various puzzles and riddles follow the theme of the room.
If you are curious about escape rooms and would like to experience one for yourself, the Becker Public Library will be hosting a free escape room event on Monday, May 6, 5:30-8 p.m. This is a great, cost-free introduction to the escape room experience. This is an event for teens, and each session will be 20 minutes long.
