Clearwater volunteers Donna Holovnia and Susan Bloomer-Furey distributed 20 copies of "Montana Sky" by Nora Roberts for World Book Night. "They went really fast," said Holovnia. "It was fun talking to people about what they like to read. Some people were so excited to receive a free book." World Book Night is an independent event that happens across the world. Clearwater Library patrons are showing their support of GRRL libraries through the High $5 fundraising campaign. Clearwater staff were photographed standing proudly in front of the display board which is filling up with High $5 hands. Each hand represents a High $5 donation. Forty percent of all monies raised at each branch remain at the branch for local purposes. The remaining 60 percent goes to support Great River Regional Library, providing benefits to library users at all 32 library...

Hopper the Leap Into Reading frog joined a group of about 12 children at the Clearwater Public Library for fun and stories on Saturday, Oct. 13. Hopper will visit all 32 Great River Regional Library locations this year. Leap Into Reading is an initiative from Minnesota's Department of Education to encourage early literacy. The Clearwater Public Library moved to new premises at 740 Clearwater Center in June, and celebrated with a Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, July 21. The new premises are very close to the old library building in the same commercial center. It has easy access and plenty of parking. The move has provided additional space that can be used for meetings, programming and more shelving. In June, the Clearwater Public Library moved into new premises at 740 Clearwater Center. The Clearwater Center location is on the eastern edge of the commercial development surrounding the Clearwater truck stop just off I-94. The new location is only a few paces away from where it was previously situated, but the new space adds more than 1,000 sq. ft. which can be used for meetings, programming and other purposes. Wow! That is what everyone is saying when they walk into the new Clearwater Library. The 3750 sq. ft. space is considerably larger than the old location. The additional space provides a meeting room, teen section, and places for readers to relax. For years, the library’s advisory board noticed the need for expansion and researched many options. The stars aligned this past winter: the advisory board asked the Clearwater City Council for approval to pursue the new space in February....
Illustrator, Gary Harbo is returning to Clearwater's Stickney Crossing Library. Many young artists attended the June 15 art class at the Clearwater library and learned drawing techniques from illustrator and teacher Gary Harbo. On Wednesday, June 29, Harbo will teach an advanced art lesson at the Clearwater Library. Even if you have never tried to draw a straight line you are welcome to join this fun class. Children thought it was awesome when the ArtOrg steamroller rolled over their projects at the Clearwater Library on June 9. Clearwater was one of the first stops in ArtOrg’s Thousand Print Summer project that gives individuals the opportunity to create a piece of art made by a printing process with the assistance of a steamroller!
