Accredited genealogist Stephen Barthel will share tips on using the Internet to do genealogical research on Saturday, Feb. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Belgrade library. Barthel has been a reference consultant and worked in library public affairs from 1983 - 2001 at the world's largest genealogical library. Saturday, January 22, the Belgrade Library is offering a class on reverse fabric dying. You will learn to create your own designs on fabric using household products. Mudbound by Hillary Jordan portrays the life of Laura McAllan, struggling to adjust to farm life, motherhood, and being a wife in the Mississippi Delta in 1946. The book is a well rendered depiction of the fury and terror wrought by racism. "Digging to America" by Anne Tyler will be up for discussion at the Oct. 15 meeting of the Belgrade R.E.A.D. (read, eat and discuss) bookclub. This novel portrays two couples' lives intertwined by the adoption of Korean daughters. Anne Tyler was born in Minneapolis in 1941. This is her 17th novel, published in 2006.
