All branch libraries of the Great River Regional Library (GRRL) will be closed Monday, April 12, for staff training.
GRRL operates 32 public libraries in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright Counties, and has approximately 235 regular employees, the majority in part-time capacities, and 40 substitute employees. An all-staff training is organized once every two years. It will take place at the St. Cloud Public Library which, like other libraries in the system, will be closed to the public April 12.
Libraries may seem to be among the most stable of institutions, but information technologies are increasingly dynamic and influential in the lives of Americans. "It’s essential that we provide opportunities for all staff to stay in touch with developments in library science,” said Karen Pundsack, GRRL’s Coordinator of Patron Services. “Our libraries are busier now than ever, and coordinated training is one way we can be sure all employees receive the information they need to do their jobs well.”
If you usually visit the library on Monday, please check library hours for later in the week and consider changing your schedule, or get ahead of the game with a visit on Saturday, April 10.
We regret any inconvenience.
