This is a 45 minute presentation that includes information on dementia concentrating on "what is dementia", knowing the signs of dementia, utilizing positive communication and some of the "do's and don'ts" in dealing with people with dementia. Time will allow for questions and interaction at the end of the presentation. The presenter is Amanda Mithun, MS LAMFT who is the Chair of the Lakes Area Memory Awareness Advocates (LAMAA), Team Lead of the Brainerd/Baxter Act on Alzheimer's and co-facilitator of the Staples Area Dementia Caregiver Support Group as well as the Intensive Outpatient Program coordinator at Lakewood Health System in Staples, MN..
